salon moelleux/salon moelleux

This wood-constructed hair salon was originally built as a one-room commercial space without any pillars.
During the remodeling process, it was discovered that the building needed some reinforcing so additions were made to comply with current structural criteria.
A large pillar was placed in the center of the room and a tray ceiling was added, inside which a crossbeam was placed, to reinforce the structural strength of
the building.
The inclusion of these structural improvements slightly separates the large, one-room salon into three smaller areas, each one used for a different purpose
and painted with white paint with just a hint of red. Because the amount of red added to the paint differs slightly for each room, the red furniture and objects
in the salon reflect off the white walls, hinting at their red tinge.
"Moelleux" means soft and mellow in French.
Although during the renovation of the salon many features were added to "strengthen" the structure, by delicately arranging the areas and creating the interior,
the salon's "softness" is brought out to truly reflect its name.
